This policy explains how Uprise (operated by Uprising Group, "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use upriseonline.co.uk (the "Service"). We are the data controller. We handle your data in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
1. What we collect
Information you give us: your email address (and optionally your name) when you subscribe to our newsletter or join our membership.
Information collected automatically: basic usage data such as pages viewed and which content you engage with, used to understand what our audience likes and to improve the Service. We do not sell your personal data.
2. How we use it
To send you our newsletter and updates you have asked for; to run and improve the Service and tailor content to reader interests; to respond to your enquiries; and to meet legal obligations.
Lawful bases: your consent (e.g. newsletter sign-up), and our legitimate interests in operating and improving an audience-supported media service.
3. Who we share it with (processors)
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, including our email/ newsletter provider, our hosting and database providers, and analytics tooling. They act on our instructions under data-processing terms. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.
Embedded social content (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) is served by those platforms; when it loads, they may set their own cookies and receive technical data under their own privacy policies.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the Service, and limited analytics to understand usage. Third-party embeds may set their own cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
5. Retention
We keep newsletter and membership data for as long as you remain subscribed or a member, and only as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal requirements. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing). To exercise any of these, contact us below. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
